DRY FIX SYSTEMS

Dry fix systems are much more popular than they used to be and more and more people are turning to this system to secure their property against wear and tear and weather damage.

Good ventilation is a clear advantage with dry fix, as it meets the rigorous standards set out by NHBC guaranteeing enough air flow.

WHAT IS A DRY RIDGE SYSTEM?

A dry fix system is a method of fixing ridge or hip ridge tiles to roofing without the use of sand and mortar in the traditional method. Rather than relying on mortar for a bond, a dry fix system  usually uses screws to attach clamps between the joints of every tile to clamp them to the roof.

WHY CHOOSE A DRY FIX SYSTEM?

A dry fix system is the best solution to secure hips, ridges and verges and to help with your roof’s performance. It can help make sure that ventilation is working as it should and meets the current Building Regulations and National House Building Council’s (NHBS) Guidelines.

The unpredictable weather in the UK means that verge, hip and ridge tiles are in constant danger from the wind and rain. They need to be fixed in such a way as to avoid damage, not just to your roof, but to the things you hold dear inside your home.

Ventilation is crucial because a succession of cold winters have caused condensation issues in many homes. The NHBC as a result has put some stringent rules in place to combat this, stipulating that all roofs must have mechanically fixed ridges and hips.
